basic sewing class - pajama pants

• use and care of basic sewing equipment
• pattern reading, layout, cutting
• basic construction techniques

now, i am not much of a key fanatic. but, i love this key fob -- it is easy to spot; fits on my wrist when my hands are full, and its machine washable (just safety pin it inside a pillow case to keep the metal from rubbing any of your other clothes), but line dry.

okay, a break from all things vintage or vintage inspired. but, i love preppy ribbon, so a few of my items include grosgrain ribbon included in their construction. i hope they will make you smile as much as they make me smile.

buttons

all the buttons i use are vintage buttons.

it's not that i don't want to support modern retailers, but i just can't bear the thought of vintage buttons going unused. many of my items have buttons that are specifically (i.e. not randomly) selected for that particular product.

because i use vintage buttons, i can't guarantee that the specific button that you would like will always be available. my suggestion -- let me pick for you -- that's part of the fun for me.

fabric philosophy

not too much of a cutesy girl here -- even when it comes to kids clothes. i LOVE classic children's clothes, and i know there are others out there who do too. i am saddened by the number of little boys who look like teenagers when they dress.

my aim with fabric choices is to choose fabrics that are modern; classic; vintage styled; free from logos.

i'd love to be able to include true vintage fabric in my collection, but truth be told, the price and durability questions prohibit. so, i try to find fabrics that represent a time past (whether that be 1940 or 1960; i am trying to stay away from the 1980s).

below, you will see a small sample of the fabrics that are available for now. i have plenty more, but right now they are cut into garments and ready for thread.
